The Network

From time to time, I collaborate with other designers and developers. I've built up a reliable network of talented individuals who can help out on more complicated projects. If you're looking for video production, I have an entire crew and set of equipment ready to go, just for you.

Hand Crafted

Every website, graphic, or video I make is hand crafted down to the last pixel. And it doesn't end after the product has been delivered because I'm always here to answer your questions or help you get comfortable with your new website.

About Me

Tim Howarth the Renegade

The Renegade

I'm a 21 year old "renegade" who has a penchant for excellent quotes and good beer. In my free time you can find me collaborating on projects with my friends and creating some pretty badass stuff or throwing spoons at screenings of The Room.

The only times I'm not working on something (professionally or personally) is when I'm adventuring. Whether it's climbing a mountain here in the San Francisco Bay Area or trekking through the jungle in South East Asia, I love a good adventure, especially when I can get some adrenaline flowing.

No matter where I am in the world, my mind is always racing and scheming. I'm in the constant pursuit of knowledge. It annoys me to an unfathomable degree when people willingly choose ignorance. This thirst for knowledge is always pushing me to the cutting edge and forcing me to improve my skills and abilities in everything from coding to cooking.

The Philosophy

I believe in total honesty and transparency. As you can imagine, it's gotten me in trouble a few times. But more often than not, I've found it's a trait that has helped me in a wide array of situations. No one likes bullshit, and blunt honesty is the easiest way to avoid it. It's also clear to me that success stories don't happen overnight and without effort. They take a lot of work and a lot of ambition. So when I work on something, I work on it relentlessly. I don't like compromises when it comes down to finishing a project, and I have a knack for finding solutions to problems. I think it comes from approaching things from an unorthodox perspective and reinventing from the ground up with new innovations.

If you really want to get to know me, you can pick apart my brain on my blog. It's a totally uncensored unloading of stuff on my mind at the time. You'll find funny stuff, angry stuff, depressing stuff, and just plain stuff.

The Skills

Tim Howarth traveling the world

International Man of Leisure

I’ve been shooting and directing films since I was three years old and I’ve been working with computers for just as long.  However, I only started my professional ventures into the territories of film, the web, and graphic design in the past 4 years.  Being young and looking like a typical college kid has proved to make surviving in the freelance world a bit difficult, but defying the stereotype and letting my work speak for itself has a certain sense of satisfaction to it.  While I have no formal qualifications, I’ve been able to compete with industry professionals and folks with masters degrees and pick up some compliments along the way.  This one has been my favorite of all time, it comes from Matt Walsh, a veteran advertising and marketing consultant.

Tim looks like he’s a 16 year old California skater bum, has the business presence of a sharp 30 year old entrepreneur and the genius of a wordpress blog rockstar. I’m impressed on a daily basis and feel dumb, old and tired by comparison.

That was said years ago, at the start of my freelancing days.  My skills and focus have increased exponentially since then, as well as my determination to carve out a place of my own here in the Bay Area.

I attended college with a major in Cinema, but I left San Francisco State University after I found that the pace was too slow and the depth of education wasn’t to the degree that I hoped.  After talking to others and researching various universities paired with the current economic climate, I decided college wasn’t for me.  Instead, I  turned my focus on creating a production company and unifying and connecting film enthusiasts as the digital age of film-making continues to change the industry and enable individuals.   I called it Terrabang Studios.

It was the creation of the Terrabang Studios website that made me fall in love with WordPress.  Since then, it has been the primary focus of my web design skills.  Long gone are the days of static websites, and the possibilities of using WordPress as a CMS in combination with HTML5, jQuery, and PHP fascinates me.  I’m also a huge fan of all things open source.  A large chunk of my mornings are spent reading about advancements across the wide spectrum of the web.

Besides film, web, and graphic design, I love to work on anything creative.  From music to street art to writing, I’m there.

So, if you’re looking to do something and do it right and not let anything stand in your way, let’s work together.
